How good of a reader and thinker are you right now in your life? Can you read, process, and think critically about difficult texts and ideas in order to learn new ideas? Explain your level of college/career readiness as a reader and critical thinker.
i personally think i am a good reader, because i enjoy reading difficult books that are based on true stories like black hawk down or ghost soldiers. i have always enjoyed reading books that are harder then my last and i still enjoy it when they have difficult text to understand. i believe i am at a good reading ability to understand college level texts, i know this because as my sisters were going through college i would occasionally read their books or help them if they needed it.
ReplyDeleteI would say that even though I do not like to read I am a good reader and a very good thinker. I over analyze almost every situation in my life, it is very tiring but it helps me see a situation from every perspective which I think will benefit me in college and my career. Although sometimes it might be harder for me in college when I overthink or over analyze what I read because my brain will think about too many no realistic situations and cause me to have a lot of unnecessary anxiety so its kinda like a blessing and a curse.
ReplyDeletei think i am an average reader and thinker. I can't read very fast but when i read i usually can pull a lot of information from the text. Its usually hard for me to learn from reading because i am more of a hands on learner but some things i can learn by reading about it. I'm not sure if im ready for college yet but i think I am very close to being at that college level for reading if I am not already there.
ReplyDeletei have no idea if i am a good reader or not. i don't read on a regular basis. when i find a book that i am really interested in that get my attention i won't put the book down. if it is a book that i don't care about i won't read at all. i need to get more interested in reading and i need to pay more attention to what i am reading so i can analyze it better. for college i just need to into reading more so it's more interesting to me and so i read more.
ReplyDeleteI think I am a good reader and thinker. I am good at processing information and thinking critically about different things. There are some tougher spots in books non the less, but rereading them helps m to understand what the passage is asking or stating so that way I can understand the entire story. My level of college readiness I believe is pretty high. I feel confident that I will do well and will learn more in college and that it will help excel my knowledge and make me a better writer, speaker, reader, and a better critical thinker.
ReplyDeleteI believe that I have always been a good reader and can understand what the book is talking about. I believe that I am college ready or almost college ready. I only have one month left to prepare myself for the real world and hope I have gained enough knowledge through my English classes to prepare myself for the future. I will need to be able to read and think critically in the future no matter what field I go into.
ReplyDeletei think i'm a average reader because i can understand most of it but if i truly wanted to understand it and think about it it helps to have it read out load because it gives me a chance to think about what is being read.i think i am collage and career ready because i can understand the books if i have the time to understand and reread what i'm trying to learn

ReplyDeleteI feel that I am a fine reader and thinker at this point in my life. I feel that I can adequately read, process and think critically about text and ideas. However there is still room to learn and grow when it comes to reading and picking out the main details from the text. I think that I am college/work ready. I believe I have the correct attitude and skill set to help me excel at life and have a successful career.
ReplyDeleteI don't consider myself the best reader but I my ability to think critically is high. When read something I am able to think about all the things that go into into making it a happen. I can think about something by picturing it in my head so I can see the outcomes that will be a result of it.

ReplyDeletePersonally i think i am an average reader cuz i do not like to read much also because it is hard to find books that i am interested in. i feel that i am read for college tho. I think that i will succeed in life. i am 75% ready for college.
ReplyDeleteI think I am a good reader and I can understand what I read and think critically about it. I believe I am ready for college because I am able to read something and think critically about it and base new knowledge and ideas off of that. I think I am ready for college and the real world because I like to read and I understand what I read and I think it has prepared for me for a lot.
ReplyDeletePersonally I think i need some improving on my reading, but I feel like I could get better.I believe that in college if you found that one passion you love doing it doesn't matter how you like to read because you want to succeed in the field. It will be your mission to figure it out without reading if that is your problem. You do not need books to learn new things you have google, the superpower to use. Books will be outdated but the Internet will have the new information.
ReplyDeleteWill you have to "read" the information on the Internet?
DeleteI don't think that I am ready for collage reading. I have troubles reading really long books now, I don't think I would do well if I had to read a really long book. I have never been a good reader, so it takes me a wile to understand what I am reading and comprehend what is going on.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think I am a pretty good reader, although I think I do need to read more on a regular basis to become a better reader. For the most part I've always been able to read at a high level, although thinking critically about difficult texts is not really what I would consider one of my strengths. I think I've got some work to do before I would say I'm completely ready for college, but I do think that when college does come along that I'll be just fine.
ReplyDeleteI am an avid reader, so I am skilled in reading. When it comes to thinking, I tend to make decisions with out thinking, or I overthink. I am able to make critical decisions, and I definitely can read and process information. Based off tests and personal analysis I think I am ready for college, however it will be a hard leap from high school no matter the circumstances.
ReplyDeleteIn my own opinion, I believe I am a strong reader. I can read books pretty well while understanding what I am reading. When it comes to thinking, I can understand what the text says, and I can also picture what I am reading fairly easily. As for college, I think I am ready to take on the task of reading more in depth literature. I can handle reading long sections of text if I happen to enjoy the book I am reading.
ReplyDeleteI am an okay reader it takes me a little longer then others to read but I will understand it. The reason why it takes me a little longer is because I try to visualize what is going on in the book. I will have to work on my skimming and not reading in such depth if I want to be college ready.
ReplyDeleteWell I can read English so I'm pretty sure that I'm a good reader as of the English language but I'm not the best so I'll say I am an alright reader; I can also think critically about what I have read so I think I'm alright when it comes to thinking about and reading a book. I don't think I'm cut out for collage if i am going to be reading one thousand pages per week.
ReplyDeletePersonally I think my reading level is at college level or above college level. My critical thinking skills about a book could be expanded, but with time I believe I will be a very good critical thinker. I also think i need to work on reading the pages not just skimming over them, I tend to think about other things while I read then not remember what I had read on the previous page.
ReplyDeleteAs a senior in high school, you would think reading, writing, and critical thinking would come easy. But in my case, I still tend to struggle a bit in these categories. I am not by any means an outstanding reader. I am more of an average reader. I can read a passage or a book and get the main idea out of it quite easily. But I still have a tendency to mindlessly read a long in a book and not focus on what is going on in it. At a college standpoint, I don't think my reading skills are quite up to par. I could use a lot more tips and tricks to boost my reading and interpreting skills. No matter how much I improve in this, it will still very difficult going into college.
ReplyDeleteAs a senior, I believe that I am a good reader given my disability. When I read I do not understand difficult text. When reading i have to ask someone to explain it to me or I have to listen to it myself. As for college readiness I feel that I am as ready as I can be in reading but i need work on critical thinking.
ReplyDeleteI feel pretty confident in my reading skills. I feel as if I can read and comprehend many levels of text if I put the time and effort into doing so. my reading ability is college ready and I can exceed at digesting college material. what could be in question is my interest and effort level in what im reading.
ReplyDeleteRight now at this time I am a slow reader but I can for the most part comprehend what I am reading and I can usually find some meaning to what I read. But I dent understand what a difficult read is and howit would make it hard to understand.
ReplyDeleteI think that i am a good reader and that i can comprehend what I am reading and if I do not understand what I just read I will go back and re read it. but my biggest thing is getting enough interest to read a book.
ReplyDeleteI as a reader believe I am a good reader. I don't like to read that much. I try to find books that I like so, that way i can comprehend them a little more. My reading skills are alright, if i took more time I could understand the text a little better.
